Gauthier Elementary, Teacher Feature: Shelby Baird
Today is #TeacherFeatureWednesday, and the St. Bernard Parish School Board would like to salute Shelby Baird at Gauthier Elementary School. Mrs. Shelby Baird is in her second year teaching Special Education at J.F. Gauthier Elementary. Shelby Baird has worked tirelessly with classroom teachers, students, and parents to make sure her students’ needs are being met both inside and outside of her classroom.
“Mrs. Baird does an excellent job of pooling all resources to make sure her special education students are successful in meeting their learning goals. She implements a variety of teaching strategies in her daily lessons to address the learning styles of her students and meet their individual educational needs. Mrs. Baird has proven to be a true advocate for her students, helping them to realize and strive to reach their full potential.”
-Lisa Young, Principal
“Shelby Baird’s enthusiasm and energy for teaching is evident when I observe her classroom. Students are motivated to learn and their self-confidence soars as they experience success towards their goals. Mrs. Baird’s high expectations, love, and compassion for her students is evident regardless of how challenging a situation may be. Watching her grow as a teacher over the last two years has been very exciting, and we are very lucky to have her as part of the Gauthier team.”
